Troy Boy

My cousin found Troy at an animal shelter when he was about two years old.  Sometimes we keep Troy while Mary Jo is out of town.  He is the most beautiful creature!  For some reason, he doesn't bark...ever.  He just makes a funny Scooby Doo sound as if he is trying to talk.  He is very playful and affectionate, and loves to run in our back yard, sniffing out something interesting in the grass, and rolling in it.  One of his favorite places to hang out is the crawl space under my studio.  I kind of like that.

In the reference photo (couldn't get him to sit for this painting), Troy is sitting with his back to the sunlight, which is pouring into the room, casting mahogany reflections into the shadows of his fur.
